I Hate you, But I Love You  Experimental video, 2:36, 2021, Enschede the Netherlands
“I hate you, I love you” is created to show the physical and mental struggles of a skin disease. A skin disease is more often portrait as something beautiful and unique in today’s society. But the reality is that it creates a lot of insecurities and discomfort. It is called “I hate you, I love you” because of the relation humans have with nature. Flowers, trees, grass are often really pretty, but trees can also fall and cause damage, flowers eventually get brown and ugly and gras gets all prickly when not being taken care of. This is what a skin disease is. One wrong move and pain, discoloration and discomfort arise. Even seasons and weather influence our daily lives, and so does it influence the way your skin can feel on a day.
